When you cuddle with your kapok blanket, the kapok fibers will expand, making your blanket softer and fluffier! This gives your blanket the lightness that is so special about kapok fibers. Because kapok fibers naturally contain bitter substances, dust mites, fungal spores, and bacteria cannot live in the blanket. Therefore, you don't need to wash your kapok blanket as often as you would a down comforter. We recommend washing your blanket only when necessary and ideally only after the kapok fibers have expanded. To keep your kapok blanket cozy, we recommend airing it in the tumble dryer for 30 minutes every three months. If you need to wash your kapok blanket, please follow these instructions: Wash your kapok blanket at 40 degrees Celsius. Use only enzyme-free detergent and never fabric softener. Choose a cycle with a high spin cycle to remove as much water as possible from the kapok before drying. It's very important to tumble dry your kapok blanket immediately after washing. This is because the kapok fibers can be damaged if left wet for too long. Dry your kapok blanket at a high temperature for 30 minutes and then let it air cool. Finally, gently shake your kapok blanket and gently spread the kapok fibers by hand. Repeat the last two steps until your kapok blanket is completely dry.
